"Blue Collar Camp Knife" |
|
The following is another review done by a customer in the fall of 2007. Thanks Bill! |

| I recently received my new Burt Foster Blue Collar Camp Knife and I am certainly pleased. I have several of Burt’s knives and although this one is unquestionably the plainest, it may well be my favorite. |

| On my property there were some small trees that needed to be cleared out so I decided to give the knife a try. The 52100 blade held its edge really well although about three quarters of the way through the trailer load shown in the photo, I stropped the blade lightly. That was done more out of habit than necessity. |

I am very impressed with the
handle. The ironwood scales are shaped so that the knife feels secure in the
hand when chopping and after cutting all the wood and brush shown in the
photo, the handle was still comfortable in my hand. Chop, chop,
chop……….a 5 by 10 trailer full. Whew, I’m tired but my hand
doesn’t hurt.
(Note: You can see that I used three hollow rivets in the handle of this knife. This way, Bill had the choice of using the rear hole for a traditional lanyard, or the front hole for the recently popular front lanyard. You can see that he's used the front lanyard hole, because it provides more security and safety than the traditional location.) |

Burt is a nice guy and a great
maker to deal with. He not only makes excellent knives, but he makes them
when he says he will, and that goes a long way with me. Bill |
