"Goo" Cleaver

To keep from boring you, here's my explanation for the "Goo" name (click here).

This small cleaver is really suited for hard work in a small package.  Because the blade gets wider further out, and there's almost no distal taper, the blade has a very good forward weight for chopping wood or even carrots....BIG carrots.

The blade is forged from 3/4" diameter 52100 bar, and differentially tempered for a hard edge and a spring back.  The entire knife is satin finished.  The blade, the tang, the stainless bolts, even the black canvas micarta are all satin finished for a soft luster.

The sheath is a simple, rugged pouch style with a "V" notch belt loop on the back.  Wickett and Craig leather, of course.

The blade is 5" long, and 1.75" wide at its widest point, and is 9.75" overall.

The sheath is a deep pouch style with "V" notch belt loop that allows the knife to tilt forward or backward as a strong side or cross draw carry.  The system looks very simple, but you'll find it very handy.  All my personal big knives have this carry system and I love it.  The sheath also has a lower tie down that can accept a length of cord which can be tied to your leg or anywhere else, or a carabineer or clip can be attached to the cord.  Here's a photo of the reverse side of the sheath.
