| Integrals are knives where the blade and bolster or the blade, bolster and tang are forged from one piece of steel. There are several appealing elements of integrals. First, they are not easy to make well, and that keeps then challenging. Second, they are terribly strong because of the fact that they are all one piece. Lastly, they are very elegant and graceful, as they epitomize the notion of less is more. Some integral knives are nothing more than one piece of steel and two pieces of wood, but the challenge for the maker is to make so much out of so little. | |||||
