Dark Side Knives It's a long story how these knives came to be called "Dark Side" knives, but it's stuck, so why fight it!These are all steel knives, one-piece, no handles, just a super basic, thin cutting tool you can carry easily, and you'll generally forget you're carrying it. The blades are forged and left with texture on the sides of the blades, with the bevels hollow ground and satin finished. The blades come in three steels and in two sizes. In the lower photo, from the top, the first one is the damascus steel version. These are forged from 250 layer woodgrain pattern damascus made from O-1 and 15N20 steels. They are etched and polished and show a lot of "shimmer" in the pattern. The middle blade is a laminated steel blade. They are made from two pieces of 416 stainless steel with a high-carbon 52100 steel core. The bottom blade is straight carbon steel (1095) with a satin finish. You can also see the difference in sizes. The small knife is 6" overall with a cutting edge about 2.5" long, while the large knife has a 7" overall with a cutting edge about 3" long. The prices are: The blades are priced to include a kydex neck sheath. If you'd like to substitute a leather belt sheath or a leather neck sheath for the kydex, you'll add $25 to the above price. If you'd like to have both a leather and a kydex sheath, you'll add $40. Confusing enough? Prices don't include shipping, although it's usually $10 in the Continental U.S. If you're interested in ordering a Dark Side, or if you'd like to see what I have available, email me. Thanks! |
